June 23, 2008 ~ Re-pointing

June 23, 2008. It was back to work for the Krewe. Jon was teaching us how to re-point bricks. All of the PRC houses were having issues with their pylon supports because water damage had eroded a lot of the mortar between the bricks. Thus the mortar needed to be replaced. Working two to a pylon, Jon introduced us to the tools of which we would be working with, how to mix the lime mortar, and how to properly apply the mortar to the existing the bricks. The most important thing we learned was to how to not use our fingers to apply the mortar.
