June 27, 2008 ~ Goodbye Natchitoches. Hello Natches.

June 27, 2008. We awoke refreshed in our Queen Anne Bed and Breakfast Blue Room Suite. It felt so good I almost didn't want to wake up for breakfast. Notice I said "almost"......We started our morning by meeting up with Sarah and Porkchop for a quick tour of the cemetery where they do much of their historical preservation work. This was helpful since the Krewe will be doing a little cemetery work in the future. After our cemetery tours we did a sort of 'Parade of Plantations'. We went touring several Natchitoches plantations to observe how preservation work has been done in the past. The rain ran us off the last plantation and out of Natchitoches. We felt it was an excellent time to depart for our next stop, Natchez, Mississippi.

Our hotel in Natchez was the historical Eola Hotel in the heart of downtown Natchez. We were given a little freedom which was well spent shopping and napping.
