June 10, 2008 ~ Tour et Salvage

June 10, 2008. We started our day by touring the different salvage warehouses in New Orleans. I didn't realize how valuable places like this could actually be. A person can find so many good quality products at a cheaper price than what you could get at Big Box Hardware. The first place had everything from recycled paint to door hinges. The second place had more funiture, columns, and set projects already in progress. The third place was goodwill mixed with home depot, they had a little bit of everything.

After lunch the rest of the day was devoted to trolly rides. We took the Riverfront Trolly to downtown New Orleans where we visited the Preservation Resource Center offices as well as the Global Green offices. Then we took the St. Charles Street Trolly to get a feel of the houses in the beautiful-well manicured Garden District.
