June 8, 2008 ~ Intro

June 8, 2008. Its was time for me to leave Tallahassee to embark on my first trip to New Orleans. This trip will be a little bit of fun and lot of work. For the next eight weeks I plan to participate in the University of Florida Historical Preservation Summer Field School. The Summer Field Program is funded by the World's Monuments Fund and is hosted by the Preservation Resource Center in collaboration with the Preservation Trades Network, the Holy Cross Neighborhood Association, and the University of Florida. I am one of eight students fortunate enough to participate this summer. The other students are: Delesia (FAMU), Stephanie (FAMU), Eileen (Harvard), Michelle (University of Texas), JT (FAMU), Richard (FAMU), and David (Florida Atlantic University). This summer we will be under the tutelage of Brian (George Lucas), John (the mason master), Rudy (Willie Nelson), and Judy (the wise one).


















Delesia, Stephanie, and myself came to New Orleans prepared to work and packed our rental suv with all the bare necessesities.

New Orleans is a pretty cool city. I couldn't wait to get to the bed and breakfast to meet the rest of the students.
